Dixinn: stepped-up patrols near schools since the start of term

Dixinn's central police station has deployed stepped-up patrols near several schools since the start of the school year, a measure meant to secure pupils' journeys at drop-off and pick-up times. The initiative follows reports of mobile-phone thefts near two secondary schools in the neighbourhood at the end of last school year.
According to station officials, patrols are positioned at the busiest intersections between 7am and 8am in the morning, then between 12:30pm and 2pm for the midday break. Plainclothes officers complement the visible presence, a method already used last year with results local authorities consider positive.
Parents met this Monday morning say they generally feel reassured by the police presence, though some regret the absence of similar patrols near the neighbourhood's primary schools, which they consider just as exposed. Parent associations say they intend to raise this request with the police station in the coming days.
What the creator verified this Monday: two officers effectively present at an intersection near a secondary school between 7am and 7:45am. What remains to be confirmed: whether the arrangement will be extended to the neighbourhood's primary schools, as parent associations are requesting.
