Cadjehoun: scheduled power cut on Sunday evening for a transformer replacement

The Beninese Electricity Company (SBEE) carried out the replacement of an ageing transformer serving the Cadjehoun neighbourhood on Sunday evening, causing a power cut of nearly four hours in several streets around the airport. The notice had been published three days earlier on SBEE's official channels.
The transformer in question supplied businesses and homes near Cardinal Bernardin Gantin International Airport, an area where electricity demand has grown in recent years with the construction of new buildings. SBEE says the equipment had reached the end of its technical life and was replaced preventively.
For residents, the cut came in the evening, a time when several households had prepared by charging lamps and phones in advance after the announcement. Some fast-food businesses in the area had to close earlier than usual, lacking a generator. Power was gradually restored before midnight, according to several accounts gathered on site.
What the creator verified this Sunday evening: the cut effective in at least four streets of the neighbourhood between 7:30pm and 11pm. What remains to be confirmed: the exact time power was fully restored across the whole affected area.
